“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” -Martin Luther King

Our deep interconnection with all life on the planet means that each one of us has already been touched by climate change

Anxiety, anger, grief, despair, confusion, hopelessness, dread, and many other challenging emotions are often swirling in and out of our awareness, flaring up as we see images of catastrophe, read sobering headlines, or just witness the changes in our local ecosystem

Many of us cope with such feelings through distraction, addiction, or other means of pushing them away, yet they return over and over again, often impeding our creativity, joy, and capacity to feel fully alive

As an eco-chaplain, I train in turning towards these emotions, and in creating space for them to communicate their wisdom. By working skillfully with our feelings, we transmute them into energy and vitality to find purpose and meaning in this era of great crisis

If you are interested in stepping into a friendly, compassionate, and confidential space, one in which you can be supporting in opening up what is alive in your heart, it would be an honor to support you

Examples of eco-Chaplaincy

compassionate Care

The climate crisis is too large to carry alone. Enter a safe-space in which you can open up about your experience living in these unprecedented times. This is a space to be heard and validated, without any need to fix or solve

Counsel

For those seeking practices and resources to support them in building resiliency to stay upright in a world of uncertainty. Together, we can work with your own worldviews and beliefs to generate a more clear and tangible path forward

Community

Come together with others directly and indirectly impacted by climate change to share, witness, and belong. You are not alone

Connection

The climate crisis arises from humanity’s delusions of separation from the natural world. Together, we can deepen or re-spark connection to Nature, opening to the support and wisdom she provides

“The grounds for hope are in the shadows, in the people who are inventing the world while no one looks, who themselves don't know yet whether they will have any effect, in the people you have not yet heard of.”

-Rebecca Solnit
