Hi, I’m alex julie.

My journey into mindfulness began unexpectedly on the beach with my best friend and soul-dog Roscoe. Wrestling with him in the sand, I noticed, for the first time, the silver creeping into his eyelashes.

It struck me like a bolt of lightning. For the length of a single breath, the haze of my busy mind cleared, replaced by a spacious and luminous moment of pure presence. In that moment, I had a deep, embodied insight into the truth of impermanence, and the urgency of Love. My life has never been the same.

I’ve spent the ensuing 8 years orienting toward the felt sense of that moment of clarity. This process has unraveled and reformed my life time and again through a dynamic process of opening and letting go.

My heart’s desire is to share what I have learned to help others in their unique journey of self-discovery.

My Approach and inspirations

The living Earth is the mother of all teachers. Peering into nature lays bare life’s deepest truths, and invites us back into a freshness of being.

Science and spiritual traditions agree that bringing in mindfulness practices into nature creates the conditions for personal healing and transformation. My programs create a safe container for such experiences, while also building lasting community, and empowering participants to embody their experiences in their lives through social and environmental stewardship.

Awake in the WIld

Developed by Mark Coleman, Awake in the Wild programs bring people together to develop awareness and love for the Earth and all species through nature-based meditation practice. Meditation styles draw on Buddhist, indigenous, and wisdom traditions that inspire greater awareness, kindness and understanding.

Mind Body Ecology

A multidimensional orientation, drawing together contemplative science, the humanities, and global Indigenous and contemplative wisdom together with nature-centered meditation, storytelling, dance, ceremony, and creative arts. Programs foster a culture of belonging and kinship for societal transformation.

The work that reconnects

For anyone who longs to serve the healing of our world in a more powerful and effective way. This interactive group process, was developed by Joanna Macy and others over several decades. It draws upon Systems Thinking, Deep Ecology and Deep Time, Spiritual Traditions and Undoing Oppression.

ecodharma

Action oriented Buddhist practices, that seek to cultivate and deploy wisdom, compassion, courage, creativity, flexibility, and a steady resolve to our inter-related ecological and social crises.
